Tell is made by Emouna LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we"). This policy covers both the Tell iOS app and this website, which exists for one purpose: to let someone answer six questions after a Tell user sends them a link.
The short version. We do not sell anything about you, we do not run advertising, and there are no analytics or tracking cookies on this site. If you answered six questions here, your answers go to the one person who sent you the link, are used to produce a written summary for them, and are deleted on the schedule set out below.
The controller of personal data described in this policy is Emouna LLC, a Florida limited liability company, United States. Privacy questions and requests go to support@gettell.app.
One important exception. When you use Tell to understand someone else, you decide to do that and you are the controller of the material you submit about them; we process it on your instructions to return the analysis you asked for. Your responsibilities in that situation are set out in the Terms of Use.
We do not ask for, and do not want, your email address, phone number, name beyond what the sender already knew, location, contacts, or any account credentials. There is no sign-up.
Your answers are sent to an AI model, which produces a written summary of how you communicate and make decisions. That summary is delivered to the one person who sent you the link. It is not shown to you, not published, not shared with anyone else, and not used to train any model.
Our AI provider is OpenAI. Requests are made with provider-side retention disabled, so the text is not retained by them after the request is answered. We do not use your answers to train or improve any model of ours.
The summary itself is downloaded to the sender's phone and stored there. Once it is on their device it is under their control, in the same way an email you send them would be.
Answering is voluntary. Closing the tab before pressing Send means nothing is transmitted at all. If you have already answered and want your answers and the resulting summary deleted from our systems, email us at support@gettell.app with the link you were sent and we will delete the record. We cannot delete a copy already downloaded to the sender's device; ask them for that directly.
Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, our lawful bases are:

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to. Nobody else receives it.
Our processing takes place in the United States. If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or another region with transfer restrictions, your data is transferred to the United States under the Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved mechanism operated by our processors.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Because profiles, chats and coaching history are stored on your device and not on our servers, you can exercise most of these yourself in the app, immediately and without asking us.
For anything we do hold, email support@gettell.app and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
If you are in California: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA and CPRA, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing the service. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing — the last of which is not applicable because we do neither. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
Automated decision-making: Tell produces written observations for you to read and judge. It makes no decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect about anyone, and the Terms of Use prohibit using it for employment, credit, housing, insurance, or other regulated decisions.
Tell is not for anyone under 18, and the product is built to refuse profiling a minor. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has answered a link, contact us and we will delete the record.
Invitation links use a 256-bit random token that is stored only as a cryptographic hash, so a copy of our database could not be used to open a pending link. Links are single-use and expire. All traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, but we hold as little as we can for as short a time as we can, which is the part that actually helps.
